Prizefighter En Mi Casa

  On  the day of the fight the fight was  raided by the police  and  next thing you know the next morning there was papers   "illegal prizefight leaves local dead". El Jefe  was hiding though and no one knew  . One day Chula  was walking and heard crying  from this "supposed" monster , a guy  with  broken knuckles  and an old eye patch so that day right away she knew it was him she ran up to him and hugged him full of joy because she really thought he was dead.



 A connection I have is when Chula ran up to El Jeff and hugged him full of joy because one day my cousin had came back from his dads after 3 months and I hugged him and cried of happiness .

A trait I give Chula's grandma is very good lady , even though in the book it said she would talk a lot of smack she jus did all that because she cared very much about Chula .

Chula talks a lot about how Mexicans from her neigh hood " The circle "  can never get the chance to be anything which wasn't true to me  since they did have a upper learning program at her school. I think she  thought that because her aunt got pregnant and wasn't able to be in Princeton. The day has come El Jeff was gonna fight ''Golden Gloves'' and tio was El Jeff referee.You can tell momma was so nervous , shaking her hands and just screaming at Chula and Richi to set down , I mean why wouldn't she be if he lost she wasn't gonna get no money for the family and then they would become really really poor.You can also tell that Chula wanted El Jeff to win because in the book it said " I wanted him to win , I wanted him to lose , I wanted all us to go home and have a sopapilas with vanilla ice cream and pretend we didn't need him to be the cyclops. 


A connection I have is with Chula is ....I say I have  a connection with her because at first she doesn't like EL Jeff like she wasn't able to look  at him without being scared or eat around him , she never communicated with him either at the table when they would eat .I Feel like I'm like that with my step dad because I didn't like him at first but now I see how he tried to get a long with me and communicated with me more . Its like Chela and Jeff they start to have a bond in the middle of the story  also like me , me and her didn't like them in the begging but in the middle we do now and at the end we are going to be  close to them. 
In the picture of the book , the cover its  a picture of her and El Jeff and they look really close and happy with each other like best friends.

The prizefighter is Big “He’s like the Mexican Hulk!” they say   ( El Jeff ). In the book it says he has a reputation of killing the people he fights .In the middle of the box it says   Chula ends up fighting and EL Jeff  talks to her about it. At first Chula Hated El Jeff cause she was scared of him and just didn't like him but after that fight she started to like him , she noticed he wasn't as bad as she thought  he  was. The thing no one really knows about Chula is she has epilepsy, thats like having lots of concussions ,her family tries to avoid it a lot. I just had noticed something else , the only reason why ElJeff is there is because there family doesn't have a lot of money so there basically winning money off him. 


I see a theme coming , I think when El Jeff has a fight I say he's going to win because he's past stories about him fighting is that he usually doesn't lose . I think he's gonna win and end up getting lots of money for the family , I also think that El Jeff is gonna end up getting so close to the family that he's gonna end up staying there with Chula's family and being a part of there family.  At first I thought EL Jeff was gonna give up on Chula's family because he didn't  feel comfortable  but I don't think he is.

I noticed that Chula doesn't like going to school everyday (squareTown) , and that momma dosnt like Chula talking to her grandma about her past because one part in the book grandma had asked how school was going to Chula and about her past and right away her mom came out screaming saying "Is she bothering you abulea ".  Its like they don't like each other. Momma is very upset with Chula because in one of  classes she failing so her teacher is thinking about dropping her class and putting her in lower grade level then she was because she wasn't doing her work but she just dosn't do it ,she's really smart to be honest .The mom just doesn't   want chela to be like her brother Riche , ' getting no where in life " well that what she says.




A character trait I give El Jeff is  very serving . I say he's very serving because he comes to Chula's house and helped out her family because they need money. He didn't have to help her family , I  say that because he knew in the begging that Chula didn't like him , she wouldn't talk to him or even stare at him so Im pretty sure he knew but him and Chula end up becoming really close .

I Bearly found out something,  the guy who is staying at Chula's house is a fighter liker a boxer and Im guessing the dad use to fight because he got injured and then next thing you know the guy El Jefe comes into the family " to help '' , I know this because in the book it was saying that her friends were asking all theses questions about El  Jefe saving there family and winning a fight.


 In the book there is a conflict Person vs Self because in the beginning of the book she donsn't  like El Jeff , she had heard a lot of things about him so he has a bad reputation on him,  for example in the book it said he killed a guy in one of his fights. El jeff comes to there house and family to help them with money because thats what they need money.

"Prizefighter En Mi Casa" so far is about a girl named Chula (Esperanza), Richi the brother,  momma , papa, abuela , and El Jefe. There all a religious family , and One day some man named El Jefe had to come and stay with them because he was there" to help them", well thats what the mom was saying. There was a story about EL Jefe saying he killed 3 people for a cup of tea so right now Chula is scared of him. Momma is so religious that she tried to give El Jefe everything because in the book it says " the gods send him". Which I don't think is true , I think there just too religious. Abuela is just a quit grandma who also says doe crazy thing about god helping them and them acting bad well make the devil take them.


A trait I can give Chula so far is entertaning , she's like simple like unique out of other stores I read. This book so far sounds like a book about her and her families life. In the book she's a little sister and has a big brother who is always mean to her but she dosnt  let her self.  Like in the back he calls her names and she does too but in spanish.

The native Americans children were being taken away from there parents to boarding schools to be taught in a white family." The solider was US army captain Hnery Pratt. And he believed that he was saving Ota Kte." This ended up with the children rebelling against the white soldiers.

I think the purpose of Shancie writing this essay is to let people know how her family is just the same as another.Just that she has different ways of celebrating there cultures and way of life.

"The truth about Truman School"

What is the truth? " The Truth About Truman School" is  it all started by a girl named Zebby who started a website called truthaboutTruman.com where you were able to say things a newspaper couldn't say. What Zeby wanted was for her schoolmates to write two versions of what happens around the school .She also had a guy friend  named  Amr who also helped her make the website. They both weren't as popular but the website made them popular. One day some username named milkandhoney started to say rude things about Lily.  Lots of kids started to visit the website more and more  saying she was lesbian and everything. Lily  becomes unpopular and starts to get bullied a lot.What gets really big is the bullying doesn't  stop. In the text it said "First, Milkandhoney embarrasses Lilly by posting a picture of her when she was  fat . Then tells everyone Lilly is a lesbian  .All  that makes her popular friends get away from her  and begin to treat her  bad like Milkandhoney does.

Fire girl is about a girl named Jessica she was in a really bad accident and  was burned and didn't really look like the other kids . No one talked to her they  would all talk behind her back, some where even scared of her  .As time passes she  moves and  goes to a new school , a catholic school she asked to move out there because of the good treatment centers. While she was there she met a guy named Tom. At first Tom didn't really talk to her but one day when she was in class one of Tom's friends made fun of her because of her burns and every since that day Tom hated how they treated Jessica different because of her burns. After that day they became really close friends.

A character trait I would give Tom is very nice guy he had a good heart because he was never scared of Jessica if anything he liked her. In the book said that he was never scared to go and knock and her door to see what she was doing. He would defend her when other kids would make fun of her.

Sacagawea #8

Its the last few pages and it ended very good. I liked the book. Sacagawea had her baby,  Lisette  she named her. There was a really sad part though , there was a war that happened with the Indians and British, and Lisette father had disappeared   and Sacagawea had died so Clark took legal Guardian. In the text it says that Clark made a list  of members remembering  everything  about Sacagawea.  How she had traveled thousands of miles to the Pacific Ocean an back while caring for a baby , she did lots . She helped find food, helped communicate  and was symbol of peace. Reasons why she was an up stander because she was a young American Indian among 31 guys and YET spoke her mind and earned lots of respect from everyone. She died happy I bet knowing everyone loved her because she was such a good person.


Person Vs book
 I can compare  this to many other Historical Books about people  ,  how people are up standers because they are known for speaking up or  by helping out the United States  ( changing something that would make a difference ) for example blacks  and whites getting along.

I would recommend this book to anyone . It was really good and short. Very Interesting

Sacagawea#7

So far as I keeped reading its  been  good news everywhere they  go. Clark and lewis have reached there goals , there so happy. In the text it had said that that a whale had washed a shore , so that means meat and blubber for them and the  indians/whites they were with. The nez Perce(indians)  helped Clark, Lewis , and Sacgawea , by feeding them. Yet they all traveld a lot. So thats why they needed the horses a lot. Sacgawea had the chance to reunite with her family again or keep helping Thomas and Clark but she kept going. In the text it said while they were traveling    she was really hoping she would find them and seem them . While traveling they were all getting paid except Sacgawea. WHY? I don't know. On August 17 Lewis and Clark left to receive a welcome as national heroes.

Sacgawea is demonstrative women. I say that because since I got a couple pages left to go  , threw out then whole story she was always a low key spy for Thomas. She helped him achieve his goal on making the  U tied states became a large and powerful nation.She helped her kind , the  Indians . In the book it says that she never gave up on them, she never left to see her family even though she hadn't seem them in a long time. She was an up stander , she helped Thomas Jeffferson achieve a goal  that helped the united states and her self.

To see the great waters, the name of chapter 4. Chapter for was pretty interesting because when they wet on there trip to look Northwest passage at first they didn't find nothing at all. It sucked for them because they had traded all there food for horses, to walk up the high mountains. After 3 weeks the white men and Sacagawea had found something, they found Indiana people. At first the white man thought there was gonna be war because the Indiana seeing the guns and everthing  but Sacagawea manage to calm them down and talk to them and big mountains . They had taken the Indiana people help them find what they were looking for which was the Northwest passage .

 I say there both supportive. I say there suppotative because threw out the whole book I thought they were gonna turn there back on Sacagawea or presdient  Thomas Jefferson because what Thomas wanted them to do was a big thing , they put there life in danger and it was a big mission.

 As I continued reading ,  Now Sacagawea and the two white  men go around the tribes looking for " shoshone" , they are the Indian people who lived with Sacagawea before she was taken. The whole point o  looking for them is cause the president, Thomas  wants  them to be found because Thomas wants a larger and powerful nation. Sacagawea was the helper because she knew them and she knew how to speck there luanguage  so she was a big help, one of the reasons why they took her out there again.They white man have found a  Shoshone!. Sacagawea was so cheerful because the  Shoshone they found were her family.

Summary-   So far Scagawea is about a girl named  Shoshone and an important presdient named Thomas Jefferson. Scagawea lived by the North american plains, Im guessing when she was young she was taken away from her family and started a new life on her own. While she was on her own she would help the president but no one new . She didn't really know him but she helped him.In the book it was saying "that he had  a goal , the goal was to make the Untied states become a large and powerful  nation ''.

Character Analysis - Scagawea; I say Scagawea is a out going person and unique. I say that because in the book it said she lived on her own because she was torn from her family. I also think she's unique because even though she was on her own she helped the president succeed a goal he had.

Summary;
I finished the book and I honestly liked it a lot Eve still didn't get close enough  to step mother but they communicated here and there. At school she got close to friends, even though it was hard for her cause she moved and lost all her close ones and made new ones. she wasn't at the house a lot like before , she went to tea party's and met new friends. She saw how one friend went threw a lot and tried helping out.So she got to settle down with new  girls that she really likes

Theme;  The theme is friendship. I know its friendship because in the book it talks about everyone friend/family member Eve had and how she had trouble talking and being with them. For example she has a good connection with her dad and another connection is she moved and lost all her close friends but made new ones. It was really cute how they all got close. The book reminded me of me.

P1 - Summary (adding what's new, what's happened since last post) Since my last post what I learned more about Evyn  is that she donst get along with people.At school the girls just use her and treat her bad. At home she still dosnt feel welcomed cause all her stepbrother and sisters, she still dosnt see her step mom as a mother. Going by the end of the chapters she meets this guy named Phoebe.They go out to eat and she enjoyed every minute of it.

I honestly think Evyn is a brave and outgoing girl, her mom died of cancer when she was really young and she manages to get threw things , yea girl give her hard times and bullied her but she never gave up on her self , she didn't let them get to her as much all she did was move on.

P1 - Summary (who, what, where, when, why...) Bounce is about a girl name Evyn   she is the main character . she's 13 and has 8 brothers . When Evyn was one  her mom had  died in a car accident.  She really donsnt  know what it mean/ feels  to have a mom  because no one was ever been  there but her step mother , but she never saw her that way so she made up a mom in her head named Steal .  Evyn isn't  good at fitting in at school , unless females wanna use her for infotmatin

P2 - Internal (person vs self) conflict about her feelings ; She is really aggravated  because she feels like she dosnt have a mom , well she dosnt but she has her step mom and dad but she feels that she has no one. Thats why she has a fake mom in her head .
   

Academic goal/ Personal goal

It's a new year and something I wanna achieve in 2015 is actually do all my work on time , turn it in and actually  try to care. I will go home and put my work before I do anything else. I will check my grades on a daily base.

A personal goal I have is to try and control my anger. Im not gonna let no one get me mad for the dumbest reasons.What I learned last year was there is no purpose on fighting.
