The native Americans children were being taken away from there parents to boarding schools to be taught in a white family." The solider was US army captain Hnery Pratt. This ended up with the children rebelling against the white soldiers.I think the purpose of Shancie writing this essay is to let people know how her family is just the same as another.Just that she has different ways of celebrating there cultures and way of life.
